See that lady there? That’s my baby sister. She’s adorable, ain’t she? Yeah, she may look adorable, but you don’t wanna piss Jana off. She’s got a mean streak a mile wide. I ain’t lettin’ her near the boys. She might rip them apart. She’s my little sister, and I know she’s all grown and that good shit, but I still can’t help but want to be there to save her when she needs it. Which is often.
Jana was always gettin’ herself in the shit, and it was always the thickest shit. Jana fell in the creek, Don go get ‘er. Jana’s lost in the woods, Don go find ‘er. All her asshole boyfriends. All the times she got in fights. I was bailin’ her out. She even got mixed up in a bad were situation and she’s just a human. Some wolf had ‘er backed against a tree and snarlin’. I wasn’t allowin’ that shit. I shifted and ripped that fucker’s ear off. Almost his leg, too.
There was one time… I thought I wasn’t gonna be able to save her. I was never so scared in my life. When Jana was fifteen, she was diagnosed with leukemia. At the time, I was twenty-one and off doin’ my own thing. She was a mess. She didn’t know what to do. She was still in high school and goin’ through that rough teenage phase. It was more than she knew to deal with.
I came home to help out as best I could, but nothing amounted to how much I wanted to help her, and I would finally get my chance. The doctors said that she needed a bone marrow transplant. Turns out my mother couldn’t do it. Neither could my father, but I could. I jumped at the opportunity to save my baby sister. I couldn’t let her die. It’s cause of me that she’s still alive. I feel like I gotta be the one to save her. It’s my thing. She looks up to me and I only wanna make her proud.
But damn, can’t she lay off the danger? Fuck!
